Resident falsely reports stabbing to get swift police response to neighbor’s loud party

Driver flees after fatally striking pedestrian at 20th and Barrett

Richmond police responded to a report of a stabbing early Sunday, but learned the caller made up the story in order to get a quick response for a loud party at  his neighbor’s house, a police captain reported.

The caller was arrested on suspicion of reporting a false emergency, Richmond police Capt. Al Walle reported.

The incident occurred about 2 a.m. in the 2300 block of McBryde Avenue, Walle said.

  1. While I get why we can’t have people making false reports to the police it’s incredibly frustrating that instead of the ***hole keeping the entire neighborhood awake it was one of their unfortunate neighbors who got arrested.
