Richmond police responded to a report of a stabbing early Sunday, but learned the caller made up the story in order to get a quick response for a loud party at  his neighbor’s house, a police captain reported.

The caller was arrested on suspicion of reporting a false emergency, Richmond police Capt. Al Walle reported.

The incident occurred about 2 a.m. in the 2300 block of McBryde Avenue, Walle said.
