Need compost for your garden?
Republic Services is set to launch a new compost giveaway program for West Contra Costa residents.
Starting Feb. 6 and each first Wednesday of the month thereafter, West County households can go to the WCRR at 101 Pittsburg Ave. from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and get up to 2 cubic yards of compost per month.
It’s self-service, so bring your own bag, bin or bucket and shovel to load the material. Valid identification is required.
