Four suspects were arrested Saturday on suspicion of committing at least one grab-and-run theft at Macy’s at The Shops at Hilltop, police said.

In fact, the suspects struck at the same time as a Richmond police detective was at the store investigating an earlier grab-and-run theft. Just before 3 p.m., the detective saw the same suspects run out of the store with handfuls of clothing, Richmond police Capt. Al Walle said.

“The detective attempted to stop the suspects but they pushed past him and fled in a vehicle, Walle said.

The detective broadcast the suspect’s description. The suspects were located after they lost control of their car and struck a street sign in the 3900 block of Cutting Boulevard.

Arrested were two men, one woman and a juvenile. Identities of the suspects weren’t immediately known.
