Kairos Youth Choir—which was founded in 1990 and has an emphasis on choral music—will kick off a day of music and community service Sun., March 27 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Richmond’s Marina Bay Park, Regatta Blvd. & Marina Bay Pkwy.
The group welcomes the community to a free event Sunday, the “Marina Bay Beach Clean-Up & Kairos Youth Choir Spring Showcase,” that includes a community clean-up in the morning followed by an afternoon live performance demo at 1:30 p.m. The choir’s performance will take place on the stage at the west end of Marina Park and include “selected scenes from their upcoming spring musical,” per organizers quoted in the Richmond City Manager’s Report.
“Help protect our coast and oceans and keep Richmond clean,” organizers said in the report, adding that “all activities are open to the public.”
The effort is powered by a Love Your Block Mini-Grant from the City of Richmond City Manager’s Office, Economic Development and Community Services Department. Volunteers are asked to check-in at 9 a.m. Sunday at the west end of Marina Park. Masks and social distancing are required for all participating in the event.
