“Live music is back!” So state the folks at Point San Pablo Harbor, who are inviting community members to grab their blankets and low back chairs for the upcoming Live on the Waterfront Concert Series.
The outdoor series launches Thursday, July 29, with the Chuck Prophet Trio performing at the Music on the Meadow Trailer Stage, according to the venue’s Facebook post.
“Doors” for the outdoor concert open at 6 p.m. and the show starts at 7 p.m.
Known from his 80s-era neo-psychedelic Green on Red band days, Prophet’s latest album is “The Land That Time Forgot,” which he is expected to draw from for the trio’s performance.
“Musically it has deep roots, from the Southern Delta to the discos of Munich,” stated the event post about the release. “There’s a kind of folkish inevitability to it, lots of acoustic instruments, on top of each other and side by side. But as much as folk music is the soil all music grows from, it never hurts to have a boiler room. So, there’s always a rhythm section shuffling under your feet here.”
Tickets to the show are $35 in advance and $40 the day of the show. Children 12 and under are free. Click here to purchase tickets. Parking is available on site as is food and beverage (outside food and alcohol are not permitted).
Point San Pablo Harbor, which is also home to the popular Black Star Pirate BBQ, is located at 1900 Stenmark Drive in Richmond.
