Richmond is seeking the public’s help in naming its new on-demand shuttle service, which is expected to roll out this fall, city officials said.
The city’s first citywide, on-demand shuttle program will operate in collaboration with Via and will feature three shared, plug-in hybrid electric shuttles, the city said. The shuttles “will provide a sustainable, dynamically routed, microtransit service to bridge transportation gaps and provide connectivity, especially in underserved communities,” city officials said.
Proposed names for the service include Richmond Moves, GO Richmond, Richmond Link, Richmond Connect and RichMO. You can vote in a survey here.
The new shuttle service is being launched thanks to a $1 million voucher from the Clean Mobility Options Voucher Pilot Program (CMO) that aims to provide “safe, clean, affordable and accessible option for getting our residents where they need to go.”
