The Dunn family home at 145 Onyx Ct. in Hercules has taken home the top prize in KOIT 96.5 radio station’s “Light Up the Bay” photo contest. As part of the contest, community members voted on pictures of homes with the best holiday light displays. KOIT recently announced that the Dunn’s “Candy Cane Court” won the $10,000 prize for lighting up the night with bedazzling holiday lights and decorations.
According to ABC-7 TV, decorating for the holidays is a seven-year tradition at the Dunn home, but this year’s manifestation bears the unique stamp of 2020: Santa is wearing a mask.
The Dunns say during difficult times like these…the joy they share through the display takes on new meaning, per ABC-7 TV. “The decorations, the lights, it’s pretty much therapy. It opens up a part of your brain and it says, ‘hey you know what? things are going to be alright,’” homeowner Bernardo Dunn told the station.
