Richmond artist Ricky Antonio unveiled a solid tribute this week to Nipsey Hussle, the Southern California rap star and community advocate whose murder is being mourned nationwide.
Antonio paid his respects through a freestyle to the Nipsey Hussle song Dedication.
Ricky Antonio said the tragic murder to a “real life hood super hero” struck a chord in him.
“A guy who pushed entrepreneurship, owning all your music and masters, betting on yourself, doing it your way, hustling with goals, positive alternatives, giving people in his hood jobs fresh out of jail jobs…he was at his peak of his career at this very moment,” the Richmond rapper, comedian and entertainer said.
It was fitting that the spotlight is now “bigger than ever on him,” Ricky Antonio said, with people worldwide now being able to see his impact.
