Three new exhibitions are coming to the Richmond Art Center (RAC) this spring starting March 26.
They include Here is the Sea, Faces Without Noses and the 54th Annual WCCUSD Student Art Show.
Here is the Sea features artworks that use the ocean and coasts to investigate the fraught relationship between humans and nature. Local coastline, such as the Richmond mudflats and former San Pablo whaling station, are depicted in the art.
Faces Without Noses presents a survey of M. Louise Stanley’s sketchbooks, capturing the skill of her draftsmanship and including her most quintessential subjects.
Both of those exhibits, which will run through May 17, will have opening receptions on Saturday, March 23, from 5-7 p.m. at the art center at 2540 Barrett Ave.
An opening reception for the 54th Annual WCCUSD Student Art Show is set for April 16 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The art show, which runs through April 24, is a partnership between RAC and WCCUSD that evokes a wealth of student artistic talent.
