Deputies investigate fatal shooting at Tara Hills apartment complex

A 30-year-old San Francisco man was fatally shot at an apartment complex in the Tara Hills neighborhood Sunday afternoon, according to the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office.

At 12:39 p.m., deputies responded to a report of shots fired at an apartment complex at San Pablo Avenue and Crestwood Drive. They arrived to find Charles Johnson suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Despite attempts to save his life, Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene, the sheriff’s office said.

An autopsy Monday morning revealed Johnson had died from multiple gunshot wounds.
