Ever since he “could hold a broom,” Richmond resident Antonio Muscardin said he’s helped his father with his three-decades-old landscaping business.
Today, Muscardin is himself a father and small business owner who aims to take lessons learned from his parents and share them with his three young children.
And that’s not all he’s taking away these days.
Muscardin, who was born and raised in the East Bay and part of “a big Italian and Mexican family,” launched Big Tone’s Hauling Moving & Deliveries in 2018. The company helps local families haul way junk they no longer want, and also helps them move from one home to another.
“With the knowledge I learned over all the years helping my father, I decided to go into business for myself,” Muscardin said.
His business aims to offer fast, reliable and diverse services within the realm of hauling, moving and deliveries.
“Our business specializes in hauling of anything, including apartment and house clean outs,” Muscardin said. “Yard debris, hot tub removal, appliance pick up, recycling, e-waste pick up, recycling, mattress pick up, all garbage and yard waste. We also specialize in demolition of anything such as decks, patios, structures, drywall and whole garages.”
He employs three people and has a large pick-up truck, trailer and huge truck with a powerlift. One of his great joys, he says, is moving people to their new homes.
Muscardin says he strives to keep rates affordable, and during the COVID-19 pandemic, his team is required to undergo temperature checks, and while on the job they must abide by public health rules including social distancing, wearing masks and gloves and sanitizing.
When he’s not on the job, Muscardin says he’s loves relaxing with his kids at a local park, playing softball, golfing and camping with his family.
“I really enjoy being a Dad,” he said.
