A man was fatally shot while traveling in a vehicle on Interstate Highway 80 near San Pablo Dam Road early Saturday, police said.
At 1:08 a.m., Richmond police responded to the 2100 block of Roosevelt Avenue and to assist a gunshot victim found in a vehicle, police said.
The man, a Richmond resident, was transported to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Officers learned the victim was shot while traveling on Interstate 80 near San Pablo Dam Road by an occupant or occupants of another vehicle, police said.
Two other individuals were with the victim at the time of the shooting and were not injured.
The victim’s identity was being withheld pending notification of his family.
The San Pablo Investigations Unit is investigating this incident.
