Do you have a special teacher in your life who has upheld their commitment to excellence amid the challenging shift to distance learning? Now through Jan. 1, you can nominate your favorite West Contra Costa Unified School District (WCCUSD) teacher for a Teaching Excellence Award.
The Ed Fund, which has been recognizing teachers with the awards for more than three decades, seeks nominations of the county’s best teachers who “exemplify putting students at the center of the educational experience,” per the organization. “With the shift to distance learning due to COVID-19, the challenges to giving our students the best educational experience have made it more necessary to support and acknowledge the work our teachers do in [the WCCUSD].”
Multiple WCCUSD teachers are selected to receive the honor each year. To nominate a teacher for a Teaching Excellence Award, fill out this online form. Upon receipt of all the nominations, the Ed Fund will review and select teachers to interview for the award.
