Richmond High School’s Team 841 qualified for the Northern California State Championship following a series of high-ranking performances in the FIRST Robotics Competition.

The upcoming State Championship will take place at the Cow Palace this weekend, from April 9-12. This event determines which programs move on to the World Championship in Texas. Currently, 46 spots are allocated for California teams to advance.

Team 841 secured its first event win this season at the East Bay regional held in Berkeley from April 2-4. During that competition, the team also received the Innovation in Control Award.

This followed a March 13–15 appearance in San Francisco where the team placed 7th overall and earned the Engineering Excellence Award.

The team is currently ranked No. 15 in Northern California and No. 30 in the state.

Team 841 provided the updates on the Richmond High School Facebook page in honor of National Robotics Week from April 4-12.
