The grand opening of East Bay Lights Education Center in San Pablo is scheduled for today at 5 p.m., and the community is invited.
The event will take place at the nonprofit’s new digs at 14020 San Pablo Ave. in San Pablo, according to the San Pablo EDC.
“You are cordially invited to honor the great community education efforts of our youth mentors and junior youth with speeches, refreshments, and music,” the organization said.
East Bay Lights Education Center is a grassroots initiative that began in 2014. It started a local chapter to train young leaders to become mentors of the next generation of youth. The organization aims to build a generation of leaders who will “pay it forward” by becoming mentors themselves.
“The community appreciates East Bay Lights Education Center for creating a long-term program, starting from age 5 all the way to adulthood, to ensure that youth are supported through primary education and the important decisions they face about their college education, scholarships, career choices and even family life,” the San Pablo EDC stated. “The Center offers lots of great programs for kids, youth, and adults – come celebrate with us and learn more about all of our community programs.”
