A celebratory awards dinner took place at the Lafayette Hotel on May 4. The dinner was hosted by Chef and Radio Host Narsai David, and former KPIX news anchor Ann Notarangelo was the Master of Ceremonies. Nominated by principals, colleagues, and students, the recipients were each awarded $10,000 for exhibiting extraordinary commitment to their students.

“I was delighted to attend the 29th annual Warren W. Eukel Teacher Trust Awards dinner and hear stories about these three amazing educators,” Contra Costa County Superintendent of Schools Lynn Mackey said. “Thank you to the folks that nominated these teachers and helped shine a spotlight on what they do daily in their classrooms. We all should be proud of these hard-working teachers who are committed to helping kids in our county.”

Since 1992, the Warren W. Eukel Trust has presented awards to three Contra Costa County teachers yearly, awarding more than $500,000 to outstanding teachers, according to the Trust’s website
