You could be married by a witch, pirate, zombie, the Little Mermaid or Rosie the Riveter.
The Contra Costa Clerk-Recorder is inviting couples to consider getting married by costumed officiants at its Martinez office on Halloween.
The event has become a fun annual tradition where, from 8:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., couples can choose costumed officiants to preside over their wedding “scare-amony.”
The list of characters will become available on Halloween. Additionally, Halloween-themed decor will be inside the office and one of the Clerk-Recorder ceremony rooms. For those seeking a traditional ceremony, Deputy Commissioners in classic robes will also be available.
The Halloween-themed weddings became an annual tradition in 2013.
“We try to offer special venues to give our couples an experience they’ll never forget,” Clerk-Recorder Joe Canciamilla said. “It’s going to be a wickedly good time.”
