The 6th Annual Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway at Phila Burger Station in Richmond will take place Sunday, Nov. 24.
The giveaway starts at 10 a.m. at the popular burger shop at 1100 23rd St. in Richmond.
Last year, over 300 turkeys with all the fixings to families in need were distributed while the neighborhood was enlivened with live music and free haircuts. As organizer Alex Valencia stated at the time, “Every year it just gets bigger and better.”
Valencia is a local businessman who approached Phila Burger Station owner Sam Lee about holding the charitable giveaway in the restaurant parking lot.
Over the years, the event has grown to include support from numerous community organizations.
