A man was transported to a trauma center in critical condition following a shooting early Friday on 1st Street in Richmond, police said. Two suspects in the shooting were reportedly arrested within an hour of the attempted homicide.
Officers responded at 12:13 a.m. to the dead-end of 1st Street due to activation of the ShotSpotter gunshot detection system, Richmond police Capt. Al Walle reported.
The victim was transported to a local trauma center.
At about 1:04 a.m., an officer spotted the suspect vehicle on Interstate 580 at Regatta Boulevard, pulled it over and arrested the suspected shooter and a co-conspirator without incident, Walle said.
Further information, including identities of the parities involved and a motive, were not immediately known.
