A new Ace Hardware store officially opened at 1440 Fitzgerald Drive in Pinole this week.
The 30,707 square-foot store is located at the former Orchard Supply Hardware site. About 50 area residents will be employed by the store, some of whom had worked at Orchard Supply Hardware. All Orchard Supply stores were closed following an announcement by Lowe’s last year.
The new store will sell traditional hardware products such as fasteners, tools, plumbing and electrical supplies. It will also feature a Garden Center, Backyard BBQ department, Outdoor Power Equipment, Tool Shop, Paint Studio, Kitchen Essentials, and a Hallmark Gold Crown department with giftwrap, greeting cards, keepsake ornaments and home decor items.
“We are thrilled that Pinole consumers will once again have a neighborhood hardware store, full of friendly and familiar faces, and an exciting blend of products,” general manager Eric Evensen told us in June.
A grand opening celebration is slated for Sept. 13-15
