A chance to spice up the afternoon with flavor and philanthropy will be afoot at “Tacos & Tequila,” a festive fundraiser benefiting the nonprofit Just Imagine KidZ. The festivities will take place Sunday, Nov. 21, from 2-5 p.m. outside the Multicultural Bookstore, 260 Broadway in Richmond.

“Tacos & Tequila isn’t just a fun afternoon with friends—it’s a powerful way to invest in the future of our youth,” Executive Director Tamara Shiloh said.

Shiloh said that proceeds from Tacos & Tequila directly support Just Imagine KidZ and Nia Academy, two programs dedicated to enriching the lives of children through inclusive education, after-school activities, and summer learning.

Attendees can look forward to tasty Mexican eats prepared by local favorite Masa, as well as Jackie Jones. Andre Thierry will provide live music and there will be a curated selection of tequilas to enjoy. Tickets are $50 in advance and $60 at the door including lunch and three drink tickets, with all proceeds benefitting Just Imagine KidZ and its partner program, Nia Academy.

Guests can opt to pay an additional $20 for three commemorative Just Imagine KidZ branded shot glasses instead of the regular tequila flight. At check in, these guests will receive a total of six drink tickets.

Tickets to win a chance for numerous amazing raffle items arranged by the nonprofit’s Board of Directors will be available at the event. Items will include A Wellness Basket donated by 7 Stars Holistic Healing Center, tequila donated by El Agave Azul, A Beauty Products Basket by Project Glimmer, A Taste of Richmond Basket, and more.

“Your participation helps us provide culturally affirming curriculum, books, STEAM-based projects, and vital resources to students in underserved communities—empowering them to dream big and learn confidently,” she said.

Attendees must be 21 or over to participate.
