Cinema stunt team opens 'Action Arts Gym' in Richmond

Seasoned motion picture stunt professionals have brought their craft from the big screen to the Bay Area’s athletic scene with the grand opening of Action Arts, a new parkour and gymnastics gym located in Richmond.

The family-owned gym (855 Marina Bay Parkway, Suite 31) is led by stunt performer Andrew J. Neis, a member of the San Francisco Stunt Association known for his work in major motion picture productions, and co-founder and cinemetographer Jessida Putkaew. Action Arts also doubles as a green‑screen studio for film shoots when classes aren’t in session.

Designed for adults and kids alike, Action Arts combines athletic training with theatrical performance. Parkour, gymnastics, trampoline/tricking, tumbling and performance-focused wirework are offered.

A grand opening event Sunday, July 27, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., invites the community to view the space and try out the parkour course. The event will include giveaways of autographed movie memorabilia and live demonstrations of motion picture stunts and cirque performances. Family-friendly obstacle challenges and mini-games with prizes will cap off the celebration.
