Independence Day is just around the bend, and right on cue, there are a number of festive celebrations for locals to enjoy the national holiday in West Contra Costa County. From Richmond to Pinole and beyond, here’s a roundup of what’s happening locally to celebrate our nation’s birthday.
The City of Richmond will host its “Annual 3rd of July Fireworks” event Thursday, July 3 at Marina Bay Park from 5-10 p.m., with the fireworks launching at 9:15 p.m. The event will also feature live music from Top Shelf Classics and multiple other local artists, as well as food trucks/vendors and fun games and activities. Riggers Loft in Richmond will have a “Fireworks and Dance Party” Thursday, July 3 from 5:45 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. with “great dancing, food, wine and cider (and sodas), family arcade games, and the Richmond fireworks in the estuary off the back side of the winery,” according to the business. Andre Thierry will provide the night’s entertainment. Adults/$35, Under 21/$15 and those 5 and under are free. Click here for tickets and here for more information. CaliBay Enterprises will host a “Sunset & Fireworks Cruise” that will depart from 1340 Marina Way South in Richmond on Thursday, July 3 at 6:40 p.m. (until 9:45 p.m.). The bay cruise will offer community members “a unique chance to celebrate together while enjoying a sunset cruise with fireworks, live DJs, and complimentary appetizers,” said organizers. The City of San Pablo is hosting a “4th of July Multi-Cultural Celebration” on Friday, July 4 from 5-9 p.m. at the San Pablo Community Center at 2450 Road 20 in San Pablo. Event festivities will include live entertainment, carnival games, food, resource tables and a drone show. Learn more.
The City of El Cerrito and World One will host a “July 4th Festival” on Friday, July 4 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Cerrito Vista Park, 950 Pomona Ave. in El Cerrito. The event will feature world-class music, community groups, a classic car showcase, as well as pay-as-you-go options like food & beverage booths, rides, bounce houses and other vendor booths. The City of Hercules is having a “4th of July Fireworks Show” Friday, July Fourth on Bayfront Blvd. in Hercules starting at 8 p.m. The show will start once it’s dark. “Bring your lawn chair, grab food from the food trucks and enjoy the celebration,” said organizers. Learn more.
The City of Pinole is hosting a “Fourth of July Celebration” Friday, July 4 from 6:30-9:30 p.m. at Pinole Valley High School, 2900 Pinole Valley Rd. in Pinole. A drone show will occur at sundown and entertainment, food vendors and more fun will be on hand. Learn more.
