Richmond-based Alten Construction recently marked its 30th anniversary with a two-part celebration at the Bill and Adele Jonas Center in Novato, honoring its legacy of quality construction and deep community ties across the Bay Area.
Founded in 1995 by Bob and Shannon Alten, the family-owned company headquartered at 1141 Marina Way South won its first ever bid to renovate 23 bathrooms for Laney and Merritt College in Oakland. It has since grown into a leading commercial construction firm with over $160 million in annual revenue and 110 employees. The company has completed more than 250 projects, including schools, fire stations, and civic buildings throughout the region.
The anniversary event featured an employee recognition ceremony followed by an evening of cocktails, dinner, and entertainment with staff, clients, and partners. “Hearing from so many people about their love for our company was truly heartwarming,” said Shannon Alten.
The company also celebrated a transition in leadership, with sons Bobby and Billy Alten and longtime estimator Erik Andresen joining the ownership team last year.
