The Red Oak Victory (ROV) is answering the call of local offspring seeking the perfect spot for pops on his special day with its “Father’s Day Pancake Breakfast” Sunday, June 15 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The WWII victory ship is anchored bayside in Richmond.
The ROV is serving breakfast from the ship’s galley, including freshly made pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage and bacon, alongside apple slices, coffee and orange juice. Adults can also order mimosas for an extra fee. Breakfast is $20/adults (plus a $3.18 ticketing fee) and $5 for kids 8 and under (plus a $2.18 in fee).
Live music will set the tone for the breakfast, with musical trio, Lovin’ Harmony, playing vintage jazz and pop hits from the swing era and beyond.
Visitors can also enjoy same-day docent-guided tours of the ship at a discounted rate, while the ROV will also make its 1944-era radio room available for free radiograms that can be sent to loved ones around the world.
The Father’s Day Breakfast ends at 12:30 p.m., but the ship will remain open for exploration until 4 p.m. Click here to purchase tickets in advance or to get in on a tour.
