The NIAD Art Center is set to transform its Main Gallery into a ring of creativity, celebration, and community on Saturday, June 7, when it hosts “Win Win 13: Championship Belt,” the 13th edition of its annual summer fundraiser.

At the heart of this year’s event, which will take place from 1-4 p.m. at NIAD (551 23rd St. in Richmond), is “Championship Belt,” a popular exhibition inspired by professional wrestling. The show blends pop culture and personal expression with work by both NIAD studio artists and national guest artists from like-minded organizations such as LAND Gallery (Brooklyn, NY) and SAGE Studio (Austin, TX).

The show’s highlight’s include Luis Estrada’s ceramic wrestler figures and layered graffiti-style drawings; Deatra Colbert’s tribute paintings of WWE favorites like Randy Orton; Dorian Reid’s black cat Special Olympics team portraits; Ann Meade’s loving homages to the late Oakland A’s, including a limited edition print with Night Diver Press; and Jason Powell-Smith’s quirky VS series, where everything from food to feelings duke it out.

In addition to the gallery exhibition, Win Win 13 will feature a live set by NIAD’s house band Selena John Cena, along with guest appearances from Full Queer: Wrestling for Rights.

There will also be interactive artmaking stations for all ages, a NIAD studio sale with original artworks and apparel, and the return of the 8×8 Art Raffle featuring small works by the center’s artists and the Bay Area art scene.
