A resident with mobility issues was among the occupants able to safely exit a home fire in Richmond Wednesday morning, and no serious were reported, according to fire officials.
Just before 7 a.m., Richmond firefighters responded to the 300 block of 42nd Street and arrived to find smoke and flames coming from the rear corner of the residence, according to Richmond Firefighters Local 188, which posted video footage of the firefight.
While one fire crew put hoselines in place and located the fire in the back bedroom, another performed vertical ventilation from the roof. The efforts paid off, with the flames brought quickly under control, fire officials said.
Local 188 posted video the firefight to its social media accounts.
No cause of the fire was immediately reported.
