You can make a significant difference in the fight against sickle cell disease by donating blood.

For this reason, the American Red Cross and Community Housing Development Corp. are holding a blood drive on Thursday, March 20, at the Corrine Sain Senior and Family Community Center, 515 Silver Avenue, Richmond. The event will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

To get involved or schedule an appointment, you can call Janine Shaheed at (510) 255-9203 or register online at RedCrossBlood.org.

Patients fighting sickle cell disease may require regular blood transfusions to avoid health crises. By donating blood, you can make the difference in their lives, officials said.
