It’s November, and that means the time is near for the Bay Area Rescue Mission’s (BARM) “2024 Annual Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway” in Richmond.
A tradition for more than 40 years, the Turkey Giveaway will be held Nov. 26—the Tuesday before Thanksgiving—and will distribute 500 free turkeys and all the fixings to local families in need. One Thanksgiving meal per family will be given away; pre-registration is required to receive a turkey dinner and “sales” end Nov. 23 or until registration spots are full.
To pre-register for the Turkey Giveaway, click here. Further details will be provided to pre-registered families. The annual event is made possible through volunteer power and the support of local businesses and community members.
To the BARM, the event is all about expressing “love without limits.” The organization describes its overall aim as providing “emergency services and long-term life transformation programs and services to people needing and wanting to change the current life circumstances and become their best selves and get their lives back on course.”
