Chevron Richmond Community Tour Day to feature classic car show

This classic car show will be so detailed that even the gasoline that powers the pristine vehicles will be on full exhibit.

Chevron Richmond announced this week it will hold its annual Community Tour Day on Saturday, Oct. 5. Community members are invited to meet Chevron Richmond employees and take a guided, hour-long bus tour to learn how the 2,900-acre facility operates.

As a new and fitting feature this year, the Chevron Richmond Somos Employee Network is sponsoring a Classic Car Show that will feature classic and vintage vehicles.

‘We can’t wait to show you around, talk about what we do and answer any questions you might have.’

The Somos Employee Network is a group of Latin American and Hispanic employees at Chevron who work together to support each other’s career development and to organize community engagement projects. It is one of 12 employee-run networks at Chevron, across all of its locations worldwide, to both promote and to benefit from diversity and inclusivity in its workforce.

The Classic Car Show aims to complement a fun and educational community tour of the Richmond Refinery, which produces 60 percent of the jet fuel to Bay Area airports and about 20 percent of the region’s automobile fuels, among other products critical to the local economy.

“The Classic Car Show is an exciting new addition to our Community Tour Day, which draws hundreds of members of our community every year,” said Tolly Graves, Chevron Richmond Director. “We welcome the community to bring the whole family to this fun and educational event. We can’t wait to show you around, talk about what we do and answer any questions you might have.”
