The Factory Bar is celebrating its “Year 4 Anniversary Party” with a tall, cool glass filled with fun events starting tonight, Aug. 8, and lasting throughout the weekend.

“We are beyond excited to celebrate our fourth year of serving the best community in the world,” said Proprietor Tom Lyons.

The good times kick off tonight with musician Duane Paton performing live from 6-8 p.m. in the bar with his special brand of music that moves the mind, body and soul, according to his website. The Golden Gate Bistro Truck will be on hand from 5-10 p.m. both Thursday and Friday nights.

The party continues Friday, Aug. 9th from 7-10 p.m. with Oakland-based funk and soul band, the Celestial Hotties, while on Saturday, Aug. 10, the bar plans to celebrate all day long with live cumbia and tropical music from Los Alegres Callejeros from 2:30-4:30 p.m. Prize giveaways will follow, along with the  crowning of this year’s “King and Queen of The Factory Bar.” Saturday evening, Sirslushalot will be spinning tunes throughout the night from 7-11 p.m. and Snappers Seafood will be serving up good eats from 5-10 p.m.

The weekend celebration will close out Sunday, Aug. 11 with a “Special Surf & Turf Sunday” from 2-6 p.m. on the bar’s patio, with Pickles N Smoke and Rocky Island Oysters. Live music from Quinn Monteiro will happen from 3-5 p.m. and DJ Cargo will take over from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Revelers joining in the extended weekend of celebration can stop by The Factory Bar before Saturday at 5 p.m. to purchase raffle tickets for $2, with the drawing occurring that day at 6 p.m. Proceeds from the raffle benefit House of Loving Hands, a local nonprofit serving women and children impacted by domestic violence.

The bar’s fourth trip around the sun arrives as it was recently voted by community members in Richmond Chamber of Commerce’s “Best of Richmond” awards as the city’s “Best Bar” and as having the “Best Cocktails.”
