Two Richmond police officers were recently honored with awards from Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), an organization dedicated to ending drunken driving and other related initiatives.
Officer Alyssa Alvarado and Officer Roberto Lopez were recognized for their work to keep the roadways safe at Bay Area MADD’s annual Law Enforcement & Prosecutor Recognition Awards.
Of the RPD’s 194 DUI arrests issued over the past year, 66 were accomplished by Officer Alvarado and 31 by Officer Lopez, according to the Richmond Police Department.
Officer Alvarado has earned this award multiple times dating as far back as 2020.
