The Backyard, Richmond’s favorite little outdoor oasis, is hosting a “Pride Day” this Sunday, June 30 from noon to 8 p.m. on its palm-laden grounds on lower Cutting Boulevard in Richmond.

Co-owner Dominique Kauffman, who runs the eatery with her husband Emmet, said they want to “offer Richmond a pride celebration in conjunction to the pride parade in San Francisco.” They added on their website that the day is about honoring our incredible LGBTQ+ community members, family members, friends and staff, as well as celebrating diversity.

The Backyard features a food truck, an outdoor Beer & Wine Garden, live music and ample gathering spaces as part of its spacious digs.

Throughout the event, the eatery will be serving up specialties from its menu, including a variety of burgers, sandwiches and delectable tartines like the Margherita or Avocado options. And for the kiddos? Fret not, they get their own menu. Check out all the selections here.

Live music will be provided by DJ Califia from 2-6 p.m. during the Pride Day event. Aside from good times and tunes, The Backyard crew will be fundraising that day for Richmond Rainbow Pride, Richmond’s first and only LGBTQI organization, said Kauffman.
