The Richmond Planning Commission on Thursday unanimously approved a request for a conditional use permit to demolish and rebuild the old Bay Hills Church center at 4555 Hilltop Drive.
Bay Hills Church is a roughly 1,000-member congregation, with offices at 4555 Hilltop Drive and a worship center at 4000 Klose Way.
The project on Hilltop Drive will demolish the existing 13,600 square feet structure and replace it with a new structure of about 33,700 square feet which will include assembly space, classroom space, office space and a kitchen, among other new amenities.
One condition of approval by the Planning Commission is to install a pathway from the public sidewalk to the front door of the church.
