An Earth Day event at Unity Park this Saturday April 20, will serve to inform residents about the Richmond Rising initiative.

The free community event will feature gardening, mural painting, music, food, games, and other interactive activities from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the park at 1605 Ohio Ave.

Bilingual staff and free childcare will be available. More information and early registration can be accessed here: bit.ly/3T6tZGY

The City of Richmond and six local organizations (together known as ‘Richmond Rising’) received $35 million in state funding to bring health, economic, and environmental benefits to the Iron Triangle, Santa Fe, and Coronado neighborhoods.

Richmond Rising Projects range from constructing new bike lanes to installing residential solar power systems, and from planting trees to furthering workforce development and job training programs.  Additional information regarding the Richmond Rising program can be found here.
