Fire crews rescued a person who was trapped in an El Sobrante home that was engulfed in flames on Saturday.

The Contra Costa County Fire Protection District, with assistance from Richmond Fire Department (Con Fire) responded to the fire in the 4100 block of Miflin Avenue at about 4:16 p.m. They found heavy fire coming from the front of the structure, according to Richmond Firefighters Local 188, the union representing city firefighters.

With a confirmed resident still trapped inside, crews quickly extinguished the flames and located the victim. The victim was carried to the front yard for immediate medical care, then transported to a local hospital in critical condition, according to Con Fire officials.
