The annual Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway will return to Phila Burger Station in Richmond on Sunday, Nov. 19, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Phila Burger Station is located at 1100 23rd St. You do not need to sign up in advance, just show up and food will be served on first come, first served basis.
The annual giveaway is made possible by a lengthy list of community organizations and businesses, including Richmond Firefighters Local 188, La Diffrencia Car Club, Richmond Wholesale, Richmond Tire, Living Hope Neighborhood Church, Lalos Asados, Kiwanis Club and Brown Berets (see the flyer for additional sponsors).
The effort began when Alex Valencia, a local businessman, approached Phila Burger Station owner Sam Lee about holding a charitable giveaway in the restaurant parking lot. The event delivers hundreds of turkey meals to families in need every year.
