“Scaremonies” are set for 18 couples on Halloween, Tues., Oct. 31, at the Contra Costa County Clerk’s office in Martinez.
The scaremonies will be performed by a costumed County Clerk staffer between 8:20 a.m. and 3:20 p.m. that day. The office said that couples and guests sometimes also opt to don costumes for the holiday wedding ceremonies. However, staff can also conduct the ceremonies in robes if preferred.
