A Community Clean-up along 23rd Street in Richmond will take place this Thursday, Oct. 26, ahead of the annual Trick or Treat event on 23rd Street.

The cleanup invites volunteers to sign up (see below) to meet at Veterans Hall at 968 23rd St. at 4 p.m. The event will run through 6 p.m.

The Contra Costa Youth Service Bureau (CCYSB) hosts the event. Youth from Richmond Police Activities League Job Readiness Program and cadets from the Richmond Youth Academy will lead the clean-up efforts. Their goal is “to ensure 23rd Street is better,
cleaner, and safer for our community,” according to the city.

The City of Richmond and the Love Your Block team will provide trash bags, pickers, and gloves for the effort. Anyone with extra gloves and trash pickers are asked to bring them to the clean-up.
