The 2023 40+ 7.0 Mixed Doubles USTA league ran from June 19 to Aug. 27, and DubsNation finished first in a very competitive regular season.

They beat fellow Richmond team Salesian High School and Alameda’s Washington Park team in two challenging rounds of playoff matches.

DubsNation advanced to the USTA Sectional Championship held at the Broadstone Sports Club in Folsom, from Oct. 6 to Oct. 8.

The team, facing immense competition and extreme heat, finished second place in their flight of four teams, sweeping Reno Tennis Center, but losing closely to Rafael Racquet Club and Nationals-bound Rinconada Park.

A huge thank you to Garry Hurlbut, Jon Sutinen, and all of the RTA BOD for their continued support throughout the team’s successful, fun season.

DubsNation’s players include Belinda Castillo, Sergio Castillo, Adam Chacksfield, Dil Chitaure, Jason Cohn, Karen Davis, Aris Garcia, Tammi Hodsdon, Relura Horton, Saul Isidro, Bob Jacobs, Angie Koontz, Sydnie Koontz (Co-Captain), Donna Lee, Angela Logan (Captain), Brian Miller, April Mundy, Eric Olson, Tuesdai Powers, Kim Sakaue, Camille Servan-Schreiber, Michael Sommers, Leslie Souttaphonh, Nancy Strahan and Edward Tang.
