Just after 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 4, Richmond firefighters responded to a fire located in a small commercial building at 700 Juliga Woods St., according to Richmond Firefighters Local 188, the union that represents Richmond firefighters.
Additional resources were called to gain access to the highly secured building occupied by Golden Gate Petroleum, which sells diesel fuel. Once fire crews got inside, the fire was located and extinguished immediately.
No injuries were reported, but the building and its contents sustained significant smoke and heat damage.
Information about the cause of the fire wasn’t immediately available.
