Assemble Marketplace, a mainstay restaurant at the Richmond waterfront, has temporarily closed for renovations and will reopen under new ownership as the “Assemble Kitchen” Aug. 1, 2023.
“The all new Assemble Kitchen will introduce an elevated casual dining experience set to redefine the local culinary landscape of the Richmond waterfront,” per a statement by the restaurant. The renovated space will reportedly “blend the rich history of the Richmond waterfront with a modern aesthetic and warm hospitality.”
Assemble Marketplace—which was lately operating as a “multi-concept restaurant and bar” including the Assemble Café, Brezo, Riveter Bar, Rocky Island Oyster Co. and Tommy’s BBQ (outside)—served its final dining service on June 18 for Father’s Day brunch.
Throughout its brief renovation period, Assemble Kitchen’s reps said Tommy’s BBQ will continue to serve the Richmond community via the restaurant’s space. Check the new website for the hours of operation.
Further information regarding the new restaurant’s ownership, specific menu offerings or renovations was not available upon request.
The new Assemble Kitchen is located at 1414 Harbour Way South, Richmond, on the east end of the Craneway Pavilion (again, opening Aug. 1). Visit the restaurant’s website for more info and watch it on social media @AssembleKitchen for menu info, etc.
