No injuries were reported after a fire broke out in the garage of a home in Richmond’s Carriage Hills neighborhood on Sunday, according to Richmond Firefighters Local 188, the union that represents Richmond firefighters.
Just before 2 p.m., firefighters responded to the 5300 block of Glenwood Way on a report of a residential structure and came upon heavy fire in the home’s garage.
The fire was brought under control within 15 minutes and confined to the garage, but the rest of the home suffered extensive smoke damage, fire officials said.
Con Fire assisted with the incident. A cause of the fire wasn’t immediately known.
