Miraculously, occupants of a car that struck multiple trees while speeding in Richmond Wednesday night suffered only minor injuries, according to Richmond Firefighters Local 188, the union representing Richmond firefighters.
The crash was reported in the area of Giant Highway and Atlas Road at about 11:30 p.m., fire officials said. Responding fire crews arrived to find a heavily damaged vehicle that had apparently drifted off the roadway while driving at a high rate of speed, officials said. Occupants were already safely out of the vehicle when firefighters arrived at the scene.
“Incidents like this serve as a reminder of the importance of always wearing a seatbelt and driving the posted speed limit,” Local 188 stated.
