A Shields-Reid Public Art Open House will be held Wed., Jan. 11 from 4-6 p.m. at the Shields-Reid Community Center, 1410 Kelsey Street in Richmond. Art proposals will be on display, as well as info about the upcoming park renovation.
The California State Parks Statewide Park Development and Community Revitalization awarded the City of Richmond an $8 million grant to revitalize Shields-Reid Park.
The sizeable grant will see the park not only receive new public art, but also a new children’s play space, bike pump track, stage and performance area, fitness zone, garden, tree shade area and lighting/fencing, per the City.
