Mira Vista Elementary’s Fall Festival will feature a cornucopia of the season’s bounty when it returns to the school’s blacktop, 6397 Hazel Ave. in Richmond, Sat., Oct. 29 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Saturday will see the K-8 school roll out festival faves including a Haunted House, apple press for making juice, carnival games and free craft activities including mask making and tree printing. Also afoot that day will be a cake walk where the community can purchase sweet treats to benefit this year’s field trip for 5th and 6th graders to NatureBridge, an outdoor educational residential program.
The fest’s food offerings will range from Alma Del Sol burritos (cash only) to the Brazuca Brazilian food truck to an Italian ice truck.
A raffle with 25 prizes donated by local restaurants and businesses will also take place. Participating community members need not be present to win.
The Fall Festival, which is coordinated by Mira Vista’s PTA and is powered by volunteers, is primarily about “getting the community together,” according to a member of the organizing committee who preferred to be unnamed.
