For Zach Qassas and his brother Jay, Richmond Pizza House is both a labor of love and a love of community.

The brothers work 12-hour shifts daily to churn out their popular pizzas from their spot at 12343 San Pablo Ave.

Of course, when he’s not on the clock, Zach likes to grab a cup at Catahoula Coffee and hang out at the Richmond Marina. But since opening Richmond Pizza House in 2018, the brothers have mostly been about making quality pizza, and have garnered positive reviews online for their efforts. The brothers say they make their pizza with “high quality and fresh ingredients.”

“The key to our success is the teamwork, the effort we put in the business and looking out for our customers,” Zach says.

Zach and Jay have lived in Richmond for a long time, “so we decided to give back to our community by opening this restaurant close to our friends and neighbors.”

Richmond Pizza House’s most popular pizzas include the House Combo, the Roasted Garlic and the Mediterranean Delight, according to Zach. The House Combo small pizza goes for $10.99 while a medium is $19.90.

As for side dishes, popular options include the Greek salad, the buffalo wings with several flavors to choose from, jalapeno poppers and mozzarella sticks.

Not interested in pizza? There’s also Gyro sandwiches made with “perfectly seasoned beef, house-made tzatziki sauce, lettuce, tomato and red onion wrapped in a freshly baked pita bread.”

Ready for dessert? Try the signature homemade baklava for $3 a slice. Other options include a variety of cheesecakes, carrot cake, chocolate mousse cake, freshly baked brownies and chocolate chip cookies and cinnamon sticks.

Richmond Pizza House offers both dine-in, takeout and delivery. Its hours are Sunday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.
