The Richmond Police Department announced it will conduct a DUI checkpoint this Friday night in the city’s Central District.
The Central District incorporates the areas within beats 4, 5 and 6, as shown in the police beat map below.
State law requires law enforcement agencies to provide advanced notice to citizens about upcoming checkpoints.
Friday’s checkpoint will be conducted by the RPD Traffic Unit, in partnership with the California Office of Traffic Safety.
“The goal of this checkpoint is to educate motorists about the dangers of impaired driving, and to ensure the safety of our community by removing impaired drivers off our city’s streets,” the RPD said.
