Richmond police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred in the 500 block of Duboce Avenue Saturday afternoon.
Officers responded to the scene at 1:53 p.m. and located a man in the street, Richmond police Capt. Al Walle reported.
“Despite life saving efforts by firefighters the victim died at the scene,” Walle said.
The victim was identified by the Contra Costa County Coroner’s Office on Monday as 38-year-old Stephen Espadron of Vallejo.
Further details about the homicide case were not immediately available.
The fatal shooting marks the first homicide in Richmond of 2022, according to Walle.
