The Contra Costa County Probation Department is rolling out three public drop-off sites in Richmond and beyond for its toy drive benefitting the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation. The national not-for-profit organization distributes approximately 18 million toys annually to children in need.
Community members wishing to support Toys for Tots’ efforts can bring new, unwrapped toys to the following Probation Department locations now through Dec. 10, from 8 a.m. through 5 p.m.: 3095 Richmond Pkwy., Suite 201, in Richmond; 50 Douglas Dr., Suite 200, in Martinez; and 2545 Delta Fair Boulevard in Antioch. The offices are closed daily from 12-1 p.m.
The original idea for the Probation Department to support Toys for Tots was the brainchild of Deputy Probation Officer Justin Badler, who learned about a shortage of drop-off sites in West Contra Costa County. Helping bring toys to underserved children this holiday season “will definitely make a difference in children’s lives and in the community we serve,” said Deputy Badler.
